Connor Swindells: From Sex Education to SAS

The actor talks to The Independent about his role as Adam Groff, a queer tough guy in the Netflix hit.

Connor Swindells is an English actor and model who stars in the Netflix series Sex Education and the film SAS: Rise of the Black Swan. In Sex Education, Swindells plays Adam Groff, a closeted gay teenager who struggles with his sexuality and his relationships with his friends and family. On his role as Adam Groff in Sex Education, Swindells said, "I think Adam is a really complex character. He's not just a one-dimensional bully. He's someone who is struggling with his own sexuality and his own relationships with his friends and family. I think that's what makes him so relatable to so many people." On his role as Tom Buckingham in SAS: Rise of the Black Swan, Swindells said, "Tom is a very different character from Adam. He's a tough, capable SAS operative. But he's also someone who is haunted by his past. I think that's what makes him so interesting."
